The Prudential Center can house up to 16,514 hockey fans. With so many NHL teams in close proximity there were rumours in the late 90’s that the team was going to move, but the success of the team and dedication of the fanbase has helped cement the Devils in New Jersey.
Where should I stay when visiting New Jersey for a Devils’ game?
This is a bit of a tricky question, it really depends on the purpose of your trip. If you’re in town for business or visiting family in New Jersey, you can stay in downtown Newark, New Jersey. It’s only a 10 minute drive from the Newark Liberty International Airport and has plenty of hotels to accommodate, bars, restaurants and other activities to see you busy. However, if you’re making a trip of it and want to experience the metropolis of New York City we recommend you stay in downtown Manhattan. Only a 35 minute drive away it allows Devil’s fans the best of both worlds; taking-in everything one of the largest cities in the world has to offer as well as being able to cheer on the Devil’s!
How did the ‘Devils’ get their name?
The name was created in 1982 after the urban legend of the “Jersey Devil” a wild creature that was believed to live in the Pine Barrens of South Jersey.
