The Browns have quite the history. The team was formed 1950, and had a fairly illustrious run until 1995. Then-owner Art Modell and the city of Cleveland couldn’t reach an agreement on the construction of a new stadium, so Modell simply left and took his team with him to Baltimore. The city of Cleveland couldn’t live without football, and in 1996 reached an agreement with the NFL to create the reincarnation of the Cleveland Browns, which played their first game in 1999.
